Benefit Porefessional review!

More recently I have been really enjoying the whole process of applying and trying out different kinds of makeup. Over the past year I have started to buy more and more and have forgotten about some of my old favourites which have been pushed to the side a little. Last Tuesday my family and I went out to a curry evening to support my great aunt who was raising money for charity. I decided that I was going to do a natural evening makeup look.

I have had a lot of problems more recently with my liquid foundation appearing 'patchy', and due to my pale skin I find foundations hard to really blend in to my skin without this 'chalky' look. My favourite YSL foundation has also been giving me these problems. Last week I posted about buying the Benefit 'Porefessional' makeup primer. I have always been a little sceptical about how primers work. I don't want to be too over the top, but seriously this product has changed my whole makeup look. The box says that you can use it by applying before or after makeup application. I put moisturiser on my skin beforehand and then apply the primer afterwards. Immediately after applying this product you can feel the difference it does to your skin. It turns the touch of your skin to silk and feels really lightweight.

I am really impressed with how much longer your makeup looks without budging after using this product. I was also really worried about how it would feel after everything has been applied on the skin as the primer is another layer, this is not a problem as once blended into the skin it is unnoticeable.

Here is the makeup look that I did on the evening of the curry night. I used the Porefessional primer first then used my YSL foundation on top. I applied this using the KIKO 106 face brush. This is a brush that I haven't had much joy with and was actually giving it a 'last try' on the night I used it. I have since then decided that I LOVE the brush and want to use it everyday! I then applied a little bit of Rimmel London wake me up concealer underneath my eyes. I then used Revlon photo ready concealer on any blemishes/redness that I had. I set this with the Stay Matte powder. For bronzer I used Hoola by benefit and applied that in the high points of my face as well as contouring with it. For my brows I used Maybelline brow drama. The brows is something that I have often left out from doing as I didn't know how to do them properly, and I didn't want to ruin them. This brow gel is in the form of a wand so applies nice and evenly without looking to dramatic or over the top. For my eyes I used the NYC Individual eyes for brown eyes palette's primer and applied that all over the lid up to the brow. I then used a Benefit creaseless shadow pot in 'samba-dy loves me' with 'Buzz' from the naked 3 palette in the crease. Afterwards I applied my They're real mascara from Benefit. This was another favourite that I had completely forgotten about and rediscovered in my collection. I also applied a little bit of gold eyeliner in the waterline as it opened the eyes a little and made them look a little brighter. I used a Barry M double ended one, however it was a limited edition eyeliner and I got it many years ago and have never used it or opened it until now!

I finished my look by using Tanya Burr's lipgloss in Aurora. This is a product I have been absolutely loving for my lips recently as it adds colour as well as being moisturising and smelling AMAZING!

That is all I have to talk about these products..for now. But I am really looking forward to seeing if the primer carries on working as well as it is at the moment!

Let me know in the comments whether you have used the Porefessional primer and what you thought of it!

Have a lovely week!

Manicure Monday!

Happy Monday!
Hope you are all having a lovely morning (so far!). Earlier on in my blogging days I used to post frequently with a 'Nail of the Day' every monday. This was something I enjoyed doing as I had more time painting my nails. Since uni started I have found less and less time to change up my nails! Seeing as Uni is coming to an end I am going to get back into these posts and I can't wait to share some designs with you!
I took this picture as soon as I had painted my nails so the edges hadn't been cleaned yet!

This design is pretty simple. I used Essie polishes in 'bikini so teeny' and 'beyond cosy'. To get the zig zag shape I used pinking shears (Textile scissors) and cut strips from some masking tape and placed it over my dry colour. When I had the design I liked I sealed it with Essie's topcoat.

Hope you like this design and have a lovely week!

Benefit Makeup Haul!

Good Afternoon!
On Wednesday I went to my local shopping centre to attend a 'student lock in' with my cousin. We had a lovely shopping trip although I didn't buy anything except for these two little splurges!

The first thing I bought was the 'porefessional' from the Benefit counter in Debenhams. I had been looking for a makeup primer for a long time and after reading loads of reviews online I decided to treat myself to this. To begin with the packaging is so cute! I like how the box opens to look like a 'doll'. I will give this a try and let you know how I get on with it!

Whilst I was browsing around the counter I also spotted this big easy better than BB cream and picked it up. I had also seen lots of reviews online about this and seeing as it is relatively new out on the market I wanted to give it a try also. I haven't tried a BB cream but am excited to try this out. This is another Liquid to Powder formula so I am excited to see how it works.
When checking out the lady gave me this fake up concealer to try. This is a hydrating crease control concealer. I am also going to be trying this out and will hopefully have a review of it up soon if it all works well!

Benefit is a makeup brand that has really improved with its products over the past couple of years so I am excited to try some full sized products that I have heard great things about.

Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what Benefit products I need to try!

Hello! I hope you are all well. Today I have decided to share with you an outfit I wore on Friday to University. My course is nearly finished for the first year, so I am beginning to dress more casually and comfort is defiantly coming first. I love how this outfit looks and can't wait to style my trousers and wear them again!
As a glasses wearer I tend to wear contact lenses in the summer so I can wear my black ray ban wayfarers, which by the way I am obsessed with! I am also sporting my pink Cambridge Satchel, as seen in my April Favourites. You can check that out HERE!

My everyday Glasses are also from Ray-ban and I got them from Vision Express. I am not sure if they are still available though! I bought my Jumper a couple of years ago from Pull and Bear, and it has lovely diamante detail on the shoulders. Similar styles can be found on Asos and Pull and Bears website!

The necklace I am wearing is from Primark, I bought it the other month and posted a small haul including it, which you can check out HERE.

My Trousers are a new purchase and I got them from Next. They are such a comfortable pair of trousers and from made out of the material Tencel, which means they will be perfect for the summer weather. This is the first time I have worn them and am so impressed with how soft and comfortable they actually are! You can buy them online HERE. I think you can also buy them in a different design if you wish. I think they will also be really cute with a plain vest top in the summer when I don't have to wear a jacket. I really like the slouchy look this outfit has as it looks and feels comfortable.

My shoes are from Zara and are plain black pumps with gold hardware detailing on the front. On my nails I am wearing Champneys nail varnish in 'Raspberry'

I hope you enjoyed this little OOTD. I have never been very comfortable taking photographs of myself and including them on my blog, but I am beginning to include them more often. Let me know if there is anything you would like to see on my blog, and I will try to do it.

Have a lovely week!

April Favourites!

Before I get in to this post I just wanted to apologise for not posting on my usual date last Sunday. I have been ultra stressed all weekend and week that I didn't get a chance to sit down and write/post anything. (Hopefully I will be able to explain all my stress soon enough!)
Now onto the post!

I always start these favourite posts with 'I can't believe it is the end of the month already'..but seriously I can't believe it is the end of the month already! This month I have tried out some new products as well as rekindling with some old ones. As always they are in no order, but I hope you enjoy!

Champney's Nail Polish in Raspberry.

Champney's is a brand that I am not really that familiar with. I have tried out one or two of their bath salts, as well as the occasional cream gift sets at Christmas, but never any nail products. I got this in a set for my birthday in February and have only just began to use it. I love the colour of this polish. I don't have anything quite like it. In some lights it looks red, and in others it looks dark pink (A colour which I love!). I used an Essie Base and Top coat before and after using this and have found that it has lasted 4-5 days before chipping which is always a bonus.

Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean face wash.

After Christmas you may have seen me write this post expressing my excitement over receiving a HUGE soap and glory gift from my parents. This product came with it and I haven't really used it before the end of March/beginning of April as I was using up my old Simple one. I love the feeling when you put this on your face. It has a slight minty/peach scent which tingles when applying which is a good sign to tell that it is actually doing something. I tend to use this in the bath so I can wash it off after 5 minutes. It says to apply to damp skin and then tap dry once rinsed off. It seriously works wonders to my skin and makes it feel SO soft! If you are looking for an affordable face wash that truly works then this may be your friend!

EOS Lip balm in Lemon Sorbet.

Being from the UK EOS is not a brand that is easy to find. At the beginning of the month I went shopping in London on Oxford Street and happened to pop into Topshop. I was looking at their makeup and found this in the corner of my eye. I am a huge fan of any products that smell of sweets and this does not disappoint. Lemon sherbets are my favourite all time sweets and the smell is identical to this lip balm. (Even down to the taste!). When you apply it to your lips it gives a somewhat white colour which isn't that attractive to wear during the day as you can't wait it under lipstick. However I put it on before I go to bed and by the morning my lips feel lovely and prepped for the days lipstick intake!

Topshop 'Jamie' Jeans in Dark Wash.

I have always struggled to find jeans to fit me perfectly. I am a girl who has a smaller waist than I do hips so I am yet to find a pair of jeans that feel comfortable. Well I did before I found these! I had heard all the reviews on how great Topshop jeans were but priced at £40 they were never really something that I was ready to invest in. At the beginning of the month I had begun to lose a little bit of weight and was getting fed up of having to tighten a belt all the time and pull them up continuously. Since buying these I have probably worn them every single day and even preferred them than leggings or tracksuit bottoms at home. I even went back to buy a lighter wash version of the same jeans which are going to be perfect for the summer season!

Cambridge Satchel.

I have done quite a bit of travelling to and from London this month and have needed a bag that was durable and strong enough to hold everything and this bag has worked wonders! I got given this pink Cambridge satchel personalised for my 18th birthday and have used it every now and then, however this month I have used it almost every day. I think that this bag was considered part of their 'batchel' collection as it has the middle handle which has come in very handy when wanting to make sure you have everything when getting on/off trains! If you are interested in buying the bag then you can go here..

Mac Duo.

One of the first posts I ever wrote was my haul/review on this mac eyeshadow duo that I put together. That was way back in September. As soon as I got it I probably wore it every single day or so for a couple of months. Then I rediscovered my naked 2 palette by urban decay and this duo silently fell to the side. This month I rediscovered my love for my little duo palette! 'Pink Venus' and 'Girlie' are the colours in question and they are in every way a pretty neutral eye look. I have been using these with my Naked 3 palette to form an everyday look, and was even complimented on this at University the other day which I was very flattered about!
You can check out my original post on this quad HERE!

The Sims 3.

This favourite is very random and is one that has been very addictive and time consuming. As I mentioned right at the start of this post, this month has been very stressful for me so The Sims came as an escape for me! When The Sims was very popular during the primary school days my parents didn't allow me or my brother to buy it as they didn't want us to be in all day playing it, but I knew people who bought every single game and add on games. The other month I was watching Alfie Deyes and Zoella playing it on Alfie's you tube channel and really enjoyed it. So I thought why not. I promised myself I wouldn't spend hours on it.. This promise was broken on the first game play but oh well! I have decided that as soon as I have lots of work to do, OR it is taking up too much of my time I am going to un-install it off my laptop. To be honest it is a easy escape and is quite tranquil and calming when you get the hang of it. I also enjoy making over the rooms and expanding the houses!

I Hope you enjoyed some of these random favourites. Let me know what you have been loving down in the comments along with any blog posts/links for me to check out!
